How to Pay with Apple Pay on Register.ly

The Register.ly Apple Pay option is available in eligible Stripe payment sessions. Apple Pay lets you authorize a payment using a supported card in Apple Wallet without manually entering the card number at checkout.

The Apple Pay button is displayed dynamically. It may not appear for every customer, browser, device, region, currency, invoice, or checkout flow.

What do I need to use Apple Pay?

You need:

  • A compatible Apple device, or a supported cross-device payment flow.
  • A supported browser and current operating system.
  • An eligible card added to Apple Wallet.
  • Apple Pay availability for your country or region.
  • A Register.ly order or invoice that offers Stripe and is eligible for Apple Pay.

Signing in to an Apple Account does not by itself configure Apple Pay. The card must be available in Apple Wallet and supported by its issuer.

How to pay using Apple Pay

  1. Open the Register.ly checkout or sign in to the Register.ly Client Area and open the unpaid invoice.
  2. Under Payment Method, choose Stripe if it is not already selected.
  3. In Payment Details, look for the Apple Pay option.
  4. Select Apple Pay and review the amount and payment method.
  5. Authorize the payment using the method shown by your device, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or a device passcode.
  6. Wait for Register.ly to display the payment result.
  7. Return to the invoice and confirm that its status is Paid.

Apple Pay may appear inside Stripe’s payment panel rather than as a separate payment gateway.

Why can’t I see Apple Pay?

Apple Pay can be absent when:

  • No eligible card is configured in Apple Wallet.
  • The device, browser, or operating-system version does not support the available payment flow.
  • Apple Pay is unavailable for the customer’s country, region, currency, or card issuer.
  • The selected order or invoice is not eligible for a wallet payment.
  • A saved-card view does not expose the new-payment wallet options.
  • The checkout is open in an in-app browser or another restricted browser environment.
  • A browser setting, content blocker, or network policy prevents the payment capability from loading.

Try these checks:

  1. Confirm that Apple Wallet contains an eligible card.
  2. Update the browser and operating system.
  3. Open the checkout directly in a supported browser instead of an in-app browser.
  4. Select Stripe and open the new-payment details if that option is available.
  5. Reload the invoice once; do not submit duplicate payments.
  6. If Apple Pay still does not appear, use an available credit or debit card or contact Register.ly support.

Installing a different browser or adding a card does not guarantee that Apple Pay will appear, because Stripe evaluates the complete payment context.

Can I use Apple Pay for domain registration and renewals?

Apple Pay may be available when an eligible domain registration, transfer, renewal, hosting service, or other charge is paid through the supported Stripe checkout. The invoice and checkout determine availability; the service type alone does not guarantee it.

After payment, verify both the invoice status and the related domain or service status. A paid invoice is not by itself confirmation that a registry operation has completed.

Can Apple Pay be used for automatic payments?

A successful Apple Pay transaction does not by itself confirm that future invoices will be paid automatically. Register.ly automatic payments use the account’s eligible default saved payment method and the Automatic payments setting.

Review Automatic Payments: How to Manage Payment Methods after paying. Until wallet recurring behavior is verified for your account, use a saved card as the default method when you require automatic payments.

Is Apple Pay secure?

Apple Pay uses device authorization and tokenized payment credentials. Register.ly’s supported wallet payments are processed through Stripe. Register.ly does not need to display your complete card number in Client Area.

No payment method eliminates all risk. Always confirm the domain, service, amount, and invoice before authorizing a payment.

Apple Pay FAQs

Does Register.ly accept Apple Pay?

Yes, in eligible Stripe payment sessions. The button is displayed only when the current payment environment qualifies.

Why is Apple Pay not showing?

The device, browser, region, currency, wallet, card, or checkout may be ineligible. Select Stripe, review the checks above, and use a card if the wallet option remains unavailable.

Can I use Apple Pay on a Mac?

Apple Pay can work on a compatible Mac using an eligible browser and authorization method. Availability still depends on the current Register.ly checkout and Stripe eligibility.

Can I use Apple Pay on an iPhone?

Yes, on a compatible iPhone with an eligible card in Apple Wallet when the Register.ly payment session qualifies.

Can I use Apple Pay with Chrome?

Apple Pay supports some non-Safari and cross-device flows, but support varies by platform, market, and integration. Use the button only when Stripe displays it.

Do I need a card in Apple Wallet?

Yes. Signing in to an Apple Account is not enough; an eligible payment card must be configured in Apple Wallet.

Can I pay a domain renewal invoice with Apple Pay?

Yes, when Apple Pay appears for that invoice’s Stripe payment session. Confirm the invoice becomes Paid and then verify the domain’s new expiry date.

Can Apple Pay be used for automatic renewals?

Do not assume a one-time wallet payment enables automatic payments. Check the default saved payment method and Automatic payments setting in Client Area.

What should I do if my payment fails?

Keep the exact non-sensitive error, check the invoice before retrying, and avoid repeated submissions. Use another available method or contact support with the invoice number.

Can I use a credit card instead?

Yes. Select Stripe and enter an eligible card if Apple Pay is not displayed.
