How to Pay with Google Pay on Register.ly

The Register.ly Google Pay option is available in eligible Stripe payment sessions. Google Pay can use an eligible payment method saved to Google Wallet, reducing the need to enter card details manually.

Google Pay is displayed dynamically and may not appear for every customer, device, browser, region, currency, invoice, or checkout flow.

What do I need to use Google Pay?

You need:

  • A supported device and browser.
  • A Google Account and an eligible payment method configured in Google Wallet.
  • Google Pay availability for the customer’s country or region.
  • A Register.ly order or invoice that offers Stripe and is eligible for Google Pay.

A signed-in Google Account, a card saved only in browser autofill, and an eligible Google Pay method are not always the same thing. Check Google Wallet if the Google Pay button is missing.

How to pay using Google Pay

  1. Open the Register.ly checkout or sign in to the Register.ly Client Area and open the unpaid invoice.
  2. Under Payment Method, choose Stripe if necessary.
  3. In Payment Details, look for Google Pay.
  4. Select Google Pay and choose an eligible saved payment method if prompted.
  5. Review the amount and confirm the payment.
  6. Wait for Register.ly to display the result.
  7. Return to the invoice and confirm that its status is Paid.

Google Pay may appear inside the Stripe payment panel rather than as a separate WHMCS payment gateway.

Why can’t I see Google Pay?

Google Pay can be absent when:

  • Google Wallet has no eligible payment method.
  • The device or browser does not support the current payment flow.
  • Google Pay is unavailable for the transaction’s region, currency, or card.
  • The specific order or invoice is not eligible for a wallet payment.
  • A saved-card view is selected and does not expose new-payment wallet options.
  • The checkout is open in a restricted in-app browser.
  • Browser privacy, popup, content-blocking, or payment settings prevent the flow from loading.

Try these checks:

  1. Confirm that Google Wallet contains an eligible payment method.
  2. Update the browser and operating system.
  3. Open the checkout directly in a supported browser.
  4. Select Stripe and open the new-payment details if available.
  5. Check the invoice status before retrying so you do not pay twice.
  6. Use an available card or contact Register.ly support if Google Pay remains unavailable.

Do not permanently disable browser security protections to make a payment.

Can I use Google Pay for domain registration and renewals?

Google Pay may be available for an eligible domain registration, transfer, renewal, hosting service, or other invoice paid through Stripe. Availability is decided for the current payment session.

After payment, confirm both the invoice and service status. For a domain renewal, verify the updated expiry date rather than relying only on the wallet confirmation.

Can Google Pay be used for automatic payments?

A one-time Google Pay payment, a saved Google Wallet method, and Register.ly automatic payments are separate concepts. Register.ly automatic payments depend on the eligible default payment method saved in Client Area and the account’s Automatic payments setting.

Review Automatic Payments: How to Manage Payment Methods. Wallet recurring behavior should not be promised until it is verified with the live Register.ly account flow.

Is Google Pay secure?

Google Pay uses protected payment credentials and authentication where required. Stripe processes supported Register.ly wallet payments; Google does not hold or process the merchant’s funds.

Always verify the invoice, service, currency, and amount before confirming. No payment method is completely free of fraud, dispute, or processing risk.

Why is Google Pay not showing?

The wallet, card, browser, device, region, currency, or checkout may be ineligible. Select Stripe and complete the troubleshooting checks above.

Can I use Google Pay on a Mac?

It may be available in a supported browser when Google Pay is configured and the payment session qualifies. Use the option only when Stripe displays it.

Can I use Google Pay on Windows?

It may be available in a supported browser with an eligible Google Wallet method. Availability is determined dynamically.

Can I use Google Pay on Android?

Yes, when the browser, device, wallet, payment method, and Register.ly checkout are eligible.

Does Google Pay work in Chrome?

Do not assume a wallet payment enables future charges. Check the default saved payment method and Automatic payments setting in Client Area.

What happens if a Google Pay payment fails?

Check the invoice before retrying, save the non-sensitive error message, and use another available method or contact Register.ly support.
