pendingDelete is the final registry stage before a .LY registration is deleted. It normally follows redemption and lasts about 5 days under the published NIC.LY sequence.
For the complete timeline and source notes, see the .LY domain lifecycle. Timings are approximate and the actual registry status controls what action is available.
What can I do during pending delete?
- Normal renewal is unavailable.
- Registrar restoration is generally unavailable.
- Transfer is unavailable.
- NIC.LY states that only the registry can perform any recovery during this stage. This is an exception, not a guaranteed customer recovery service.
Is the domain available to register?
- No. A domain in pending delete is still not open for public registration.
- It may become available only after deletion and release, subject to current eligibility and live availability.
- The previous registrant has no automatic priority after release.
What should I do now?
- If the domain is critical, contact Register.ly support immediately for registry guidance.
- Do not submit ordinary renewal or transfer orders as workarounds.
- Monitor the actual status rather than relying only on an estimated deletion date.
- Prepare for a new registration only if the registry releases the name and it remains available.
