A .LY domain registration pending status means your order has not yet reached final registry-confirmed registration. A domain can appear available and an invoice can be paid while eligibility, contact information, supporting documents, payment clearance or registry review is still incomplete.
Do not place the same order again while the first request is pending. Duplicate requests can make the order harder to investigate.
Check the order and payment status
- Sign in to the Register.ly Client Area.
- Open your orders or domain services and select the requested domain.
- Record the exact status and any non-sensitive message displayed.
- Open the related invoice and confirm whether it is Unpaid, Pending or Paid.
- Check your account email and Register.ly Email History for a request for information or documents.
A Paid invoice confirms payment status. It does not by itself confirm that the registry has registered the domain.
Common reasons a registration remains pending
| What may be pending | What to check |
|---|---|
| Payment | Confirm that the invoice shows Paid and that no payment review message is displayed. |
| Contact information | Check that the registrant name, organization, address, phone number and email are complete and accurate. |
| Eligibility | Confirm that the applicant qualifies for the selected .LY namespace. |
| Supporting evidence | Review messages asking for an identity, organization, authorization or eligibility document. |
| Short-name review | A name shorter than four characters directly under .ly requires local presence in Libya and follows a restricted registration route. |
| Registry review | Some requests require a decision or validation outside Register.ly’s direct control. |
| Domain state changed | Availability results are not reservations. The domain state may change before registration is completed. |
Register.ly facilitates the request, while final acceptance remains subject to applicable NIC.LY regulations and registry confirmation.
If the registration was rejected
Read the rejection message before taking another action. A request may be rejected when requirements are incomplete, the selected namespace does not match the applicant, contact information cannot be verified, the requested name is restricted or prohibited, or the registry declines the request under its rules.
- Keep the order and invoice numbers.
- Save the exact rejection message and its date.
- Correct only information that is inaccurate.
- Do not submit altered or unrelated information to bypass an eligibility requirement.
- Open a Register.ly support ticket if the message does not explain the next step.
What to include in a support request
Include:
- The requested domain name.
- The order and invoice numbers.
- The current status and exact error message.
- The date and approximate time of the order.
- A short explanation of the intended registrant and selected namespace.
- Confirmation that you can access the account and registrant email.
Do not include your password, complete payment-card information, two-factor authentication code or reusable authorization code. Submit identity or company documents only through the secure method provided by Register.ly support.
How to confirm successful registration
Registration is complete when the domain appears active in the Client Area and the relevant registry status confirms the registration. Also verify the registrant details, expiry date and nameservers before using the domain.

Frequently asked questions
Does an available result guarantee registration?
No. An availability result indicates that the name appeared available when checked. It does not reserve the name or replace eligibility, payment, verification and registry acceptance.
Does a paid invoice mean the domain is registered?
No. Payment and registration are separate statuses. Wait for the domain and registry status to confirm completion.
Should I submit the order again?
Not while the original request is pending. Check the message or contact support with the existing order number first.
