Check your .LY domain status in both the Register.ly Client Area and a current WHOIS result. The Client Area shows account and billing information, while WHOIS can show registry status information used to choose the correct next step.

Check in Client Area
- Sign in to the Register.ly Client Area.
- Open Domains and select My Domains.
- Choose the domain and review its status, expiry date, renewal setting, and available actions.
- Check related invoices and emails, but remember that an invoice is not proof of completed renewal.
Check WHOIS
- Open the Register.ly WHOIS lookup and enter the full domain name.
- Review the expiry date, nameservers, and registry status values.
- A status such as
ServerHold,redemptionPeriod, orpendingDeletepoints to a different recovery path. - WHOIS updates can take time; ask support if account and registry information conflict.
Choose the next action
- Active: verify DNS or hosting if service is not working.
- Expired or ServerHold: renew immediately if available, otherwise contact support.
- Redemption: request restoration through the current registrar.
- Pending delete: normal renewal, restoration, and transfer are generally unavailable.
- Deleted and available: submit a new registration; availability is not guaranteed until the order succeeds.
